Youth Orchestra of the European Union visit Skopje

Youth Orchestra of the European Union (European Union Youth Orchestra-EUYO) night will play in the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, as part of the "Skopje remember" and celebrating 50 years of the Skopje earthquake.

The concert was organized by the Directorate of Culture and the Arts with the support of Ministry of Culture in March and the EU Delegation in Skopje. It is exclusive content of this year's "Skopje Summer" officially ended before 20 days.

The scene of the MOB will be EUYO 120 musicians from all 28 member states, and the concert will lead Dane Thomas Sondergard, who is chief conductor of the BBC National Orchestra of Si Wales. It will be their first tour in Macedonia, as part of the summer tour of Europe.

The orchestra will play three classic works: concert waltz "Invitation to Dance" by Weber, Suite from "West Side Story" by Bernstein and burlesque ballet "Petrushka" by Stravinsky version of 1947th

With presence in Macedonia, EUYO starts and partnership with "Skopje Summer" and Musical Youth of Macedonia 2013-2015 three-year program, called "Project Macedonia". The goal is to prodlobochi cooperation between the EU Youth Orchestra and cultural institutions in Macedonia.

Youth Orchestra of the EU the most dynamic in the world, about 3,000 students was a bridge connecting the music academies in the professional music world. Graduates of EUYO continue his career in the world's leading orchestras and have careers as soloists, conductors, composers and teachers of music.

Founded in 1976 by Joy Brajer, with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union and the governments of the Member States. First music director of the orchestra was Claudio Abbado and the current is Vladimir Ashkenazy. Orchestra, a cultural ambassador to the EU, has performed in the world with the best names in classical music.
